Lecture Notes

Lecture Notes on Optimal Power Flow, related to my course at DTU "31765: Optimization in Modern Power Systems". They currently cover Economic Dispatch, DC-OPF, and AC-OPF -- but they will continue to get updated. Future updates will include semidefinite programming for OPF, and derivation of nodal prices. Machine Learning in Power Systems

Videos and presentations for the use of machine learning in power systems are now collected in the form of teaching material here: link.

Applying for an ERC?

Here are some tips from my application "journey"! Are you applying for a grant of the European Research Council? From time to time, I receive questions about tips to share regarding my experience with the application process. DTU had asked me to give a talk to DTU's potential applicants in the past. Several people found it helpful, so I am sharing the slides here. (What is ERC? Probably the most prestigious grant in Europe for (hopefully) groundbreaking research. You can find more info here: ERC-at-a-glance) [ Presentation ]

Mar. 16, 2020: Covid-19 pandemic. Since Friday, March 13, DTU is in lockdown, with all of us working from home. Despite this unusual situation, our team will continue to be productive, with daily meetings over Skype, Zoom, and the "traditional" cell phone, to ensure that all project deliverables and other commitments will be delivered in time. It is the least we can do to honour the salary we still receive from the Danish taxpayers. We hope that this difficult situation will end soon, and with the minimum possible casualties. A big thank you to all the healthcare workers that are currently in the front line of this pandemic.
