Despite this unusual situation, our team will continue to be productive, with daily meetings over Skype, Zoom, and the "traditional" cell phone, to ensure that all project deliverables and other commitments will be delivered in time. It is the least we can do to honour the salary we still receive from the Danish taxpayers. We hope that this difficult situation will end soon, and with the minimum possible casualties. Dec. 12, 2017: Served as "Opponent" to the PhD defense of Tetiana Bogodorova at KTH-Royal Institute of Technology. Tetiana was advised by Profs. Luigi Vanfretti and Kostya Turitsyn. Oct. 26-27, 2017: In Berlin for our Cigre C1.35 Working Group Meeting! We are working on a feasibility analysis of a global electricity network. Cigre formed this Working Group after the inspiration provided by our 2013 paper on Global Grid, and by the 2015 book of the State Grid of China CEO, Zhenya Liu, on Global Energy Interconnection. Oct. 24-25, 2017: Maria Krutova presented her paper on "Novel node selection approach for continent-wide power system studies using spatio-temporal clustering" in the 16th Wind Integration Workshop in Berlin. [ paper ]

Oct. 23-24, 2017: We are having our second MULTI-DC meeting! Our partners from Energinet, Svenska Kraftnät, KTH, ABB, and University of Liège, and our advisory board from ABB and RTE France are coming to DTU to discuss about the project progress and exciting research!

Jun. 15-16, 2017: MULTI-DC Kick-Off Meeting! The first meeting for the MULTI-DC project took place at DTU in Lyngby. In total, 20 participants representing DTU, Energinet, KTH, Svenska kraftnät, the University of Liège, ABB, Mosek, and the Nordic Regional Security Coordination Center attended the two-day meeting. MULTI-DC, led by Jacob Østergaard and myself, will develop innovative methods for the optimal coordination and control of HVDC lines and grids. Stay tuned! More info.
